Markus Schefer and the UN CRPD

What is the UN CRPD?

The UN is a coalition
of almost every country in the world.

The UN draws up treaties
that are valid for every country.

The UN has also drawn up a treaty
on the rights of persons with disabilities.

This treaty is called the CRPD.

CRPD stands for the
Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
A convention is a treaty.

And because the UN wrote this CRPD,
we call it the UN CRPD.

The UN CRPD states the following, for example:

  • Persons with disabilities have the right to self-determination.
  • Persons with disabilities have the right to work.
